Fast FAQ

Q: Where can I learn about SAR, training SAR K9s, and joining the team?

A: Information about volunteering with the team is outlined in our Volunteer Page. Valuable resources for K9 training, member training, and recommended reading can be found on our Education Page to help prospective members learn about whether K9 SAR is right for them. Contact us if you wish to apply.

Q: Do you Search for missing pets?

A: Unfortunately we can only search for missing people. Find help with missing pets here.

Q: How can I request a Search and Rescue?

A: Please contact your local law enforcement immediately about a missing person. See more about how to activate the team here.

Note: We can only respond to requests from applicable local, state and/or federal responsible agencies.

Q: Do you adopt/re-home dogs?

A: While you are welcome to inquire about donating a dog, please note that we are not an animal rescue and we're unlikely to be able to place the dog. Most K9 handlers are not actively looking for a new K9 prospect.
